Would you dye your hair with Kool-Aid?

If you've been following our blog, you know that bright and vibrant, cool-toned hues, like blue and purple, are all the rage for hair this summer. We previously mentioned that Nicole Richie opted to give her hair the blues, and now it appears that 21-year old actress Debby Ryan has now decided to dye her strands lavender.

Instead of going to a salon, Ryan opted for a DIY dye job with Kool-Aid. Yes, you read that right! The starlet took to social media to reveal that the beloved kid's drink was actually behind her new makeover.

"Well kids, sometimes in life we have a week or three where people can't tell us we're wrong when we just want our outsides to match our insides and maybe we're a little weird inside so we boil sugar free grape Kool-Aid and stick our head in it and die our hair lavender and that, evidently, is the fun in being twenty one […]" Ryan told her fans on Instagram.

If you're interested in following the trend, and turning your hair a different hue with Kool-Aid, lifestyle website Just Jared spelled out some helpful tips. However, keep in mind that this drink is filled with tons of sugar, so if you don't wash it off properly, your strands may get extra sticky and attract mosquitoes.

As with any DIY remedy, there is always a chance of a faux pas. If you want the very best results, stop into our Beaumont hair salon for a professional cut and color by one of our expert stylists! Whether you want a fun and funky purple shade, or a more natural hue, we can help you achieve the look of your dreams.
