A Holiday Transformation!

Before. Kaylie is naturally beautiful without makeup,  but we wanted to create a fun holiday look for her! Oftentimes, black is too harsh on blue eyes so we tried a dark brown smoky eye. Remember for a bold look, start by pressing the eye-shadow on the eyelids with ‘pats’ to keep the thick coverage and then to blend the eye-shadow.
Jane Iredale is one of the lines of makeup we used. I have abbreviated it in this post to J.I.

To start off, we applied a primer, a BB cream for more coverage and finish with a powder.

For her eyes, Brittany started by applying a lid primer.  Next she applied a light off-white colored shadow (Cream by J.I.) in the inner 1/3 corner of her eyelid. Brittany then took medium colored brown eye-shadow (Taupe by J.I.) and pressed it into the middle 1/3 of her eyelid.

Next, take an even darker bold brown eye-shadow (Double Espresso by J.I.). Apply it in a ‘V‘ shape on the outer corner of the eyelid. This is important to create a dramatic smokey eye look.  Blend a lot to have the colors fade into each other. Apply a layer of black eyeliner.

Apply, define and polish the eyebrows using a gel or powder. (Bitty Brow Kit by J.I.)

Finish off by carefully pressing loose shimmer powder (Gold 24 Karat by J.I.) into the inner corner of the eye. This creates a contrast with the dark outer corner of the eye.
